Smart CPC Control

What is the CPC Multiplier?

The CPC Multiplier is a powerful control feature built into the Adskeeper dashboard. It allows advertisers to dynamically adjust how much they pay per click—either increasing or decreasing the base cost—based on the performance of specific widgets or traffic sources.

By default, the multiplier is set to 1.0, which means your creative’s original CPC remains unchanged. Adjusting this value helps you:

  • Maximize traffic from well-performing placements by increasing visibility.
  • Cut back on costs from underperforming sources.

The math is simple:

  • Final CPC = Base CPC × CPC Multiplier

Where:

  • Base CPC is the original cost-per-click on your creative.
  • CPC Multiplier is the value you set in the Widget Optimization (Selective Bidding) or Sources Optimization interface.

For example, if your creative has a base CPC of $0.10 and you apply a multiplier of 1.2, the final CPC becomes $0.12.

Example:

Imagine you’re running a campaign with three creatives:

  • Creative A: $0.10 base CPC
  • Creative B: $0.20 base CPC
  • Creative C: $0.30 base CPC

If you apply a multiplier of 0.5 to a widget, their final CPCs will be:

  • A: $0.05
  • B: $0.10
  • C: $0.15

This lets you tailor spend levels across placements to suit campaign performance goals.

Where to Adjust It

In the Adskeeper dashboard, you’ll find the CPC Multiplier setting under the Widget Optimization (Selective Bidding) interface.

When modifying the multiplier, you’ll see:

  • “Your CPC” field: where you enter your custom multiplier.
  • Real-time CPC range display: shows how the change affects the highest and lowest CPC values across your creatives.

To protect your budget and ensure compliance with regional pricing rules, Adskeeper automatically enforces minimum and maximum CPC boundaries:

  • Minimum CPC: If your multiplier drops CPC below the regional minimum, the system will reset it to the lowest allowed rate and alert you.
Example: Base CPC = $0.10, multiplier = 0.5 → calculated CPC = $0.05. If the region’s minimum is $0.07, the system sets it to $0.07 instead.
  • Maximum CPC: If your multiplier pushes CPC too high, the system caps it at the region’s maximum and notifies you.

These automated limits help you avoid unintentional overbidding or underbidding.

The CPC Multiplier is your precision tool for campaign cost control. Use it to elevate your best traffic sources while staying efficient with underperforming ones. With instant feedback and automated boundaries in the dashboard, smart optimization has never been easier.
