CTR Guard Generation Limits and Strategies
Activating CTR Guard on Request
CTR Guard on Request Limits & Timing
CTR Guard is an AI-driven creative optimization tool that automatically creates and tests new ad creative variations for running campaigns. It continuously tracks campaign performance and launches fresh creatives whenever predefined optimization conditions are triggered.
The purpose of CTR Guard is to keep campaign creatives up to date, reduce the impact of creative fatigue, and support stronger campaign results while minimizing the need for manual management.
CTR Guard is currently available only for Product Feed and Search Feed campaigns.
How CTR Guard Works
CTR Guard continuously monitors the performance of active campaigns and automatically produces new creative variations when predefined optimization conditions are met.
To generate new creatives, the system uses high-performing existing ads, known as donors, as the foundation. AI-powered generation models then create fresh variations based on these successful creatives, enabling ongoing testing and optimization without requiring manual intervention.
Every creative generated by CTR Guard undergoes a review process before being added to your account. Once approved, the creative appears in your dashboard with a “CTR Guard” label.
CTR Guard operates exclusively on active campaigns. Campaigns that are paused, disabled, archived, or otherwise inactive are not eligible for creative generation and will be automatically excluded from the CTR Guard process.
Here are the triggers for CTR Guard activation:
Trigger 1: Ad Burnout
The Burnout Trigger identifies creatives that are losing effectiveness due to audience fatigue. A creative becomes eligible when:
- Spend is greater than or equal to $2
- vCTR difference is 10% or greater
Trigger 2: Low Active Ad Volume
The Low Active Ad Volume Trigger helps maintain a sufficient number of active creatives within a campaign, with only 1-2 active ads.
When the number of active creatives falls below the required threshold, CTR Guard generates additional creative variations based on the top-performing creative.
To avoid excessive duplication and maintain creative diversity, each donor creative can be used as the source for generating new variations no more than two times. Once this limit is reached, the donor is no longer eligible for additional creative generation.
Client Statuses
CTR Guard supports two client statuses: Active and Disabled.

Active - Creative generation is enabled. CTR Guard continuously monitors eligible campaigns and automatically generates new creatives when predefined trigger conditions are met.
Disabled - Creative generation is turned off. No new creatives will be generated for the client's campaigns. When CTR Guard is disabled, a notification is displayed on the dashboard to inform the user that the feature has been turned off.

To prevent unnecessary generation for inactive accounts, CTR Guard may automatically switch a client from Active to Disabled when all of the following conditions are met:
- The client has automatically generated AI creatives.
- None of the approved AI-generated creatives are currently in Active status.
- None of the approved AI-generated creatives have received any spend during the last 30 days.
In this case, CTR Guard generation is automatically disabled until the client re-enables it.
CTR Guard Generation Limits and Strategies
Generation limits are enforced at the campaign level to ensure balanced creative testing and effective campaign management. Each campaign can contain up to 10 AI-generated creatives created by CTR Guard.
This limit applies only to automatically generated creatives and does not include creatives generated manually through CTR Guard on Request.
Once this limit is reached, no additional creatives will be generated for that campaign unless existing AI-generated creatives are removed.
When a creative qualifies for a CTR Guard trigger, the system generates up to 2 new creative variations based on that donor creative.
This approach focuses on producing fewer, higher-quality variations while reducing unnecessary creative volume.
Category-Based Generation Strategy
CTR Guard uses category-specific generation strategies. The generation approach may vary depending on the ad (donor) category to ensure that generated creatives align with category-specific requirements and performance patterns. Different categories may use different generation templates and prompts. CTR Guard leverages data from the original (active) creative and generates the two best-performing strategies for the donor category.
Below is an overview of how each strategy works:
Landing Page Based
Generates completely new ad concepts by analyzing the content of your landing page. The AI creates creatives that align with your product, messaging, and value proposition while introducing fresh ideas and angles.
Original Image Based
Uses an existing image as the foundation for new creatives. The AI produces variations with different styles, tones, visual treatments, or messaging approaches while preserving the core concept of the original ad.
New AI Image + Original Text
Creates a brand-new AI-generated image while keeping the original ad title and description unchanged. This approach allows you to test new visuals without altering the existing messaging.
Original Image + AI Text
Retains the original image and generates new ad copy. The AI updates the title and description to introduce fresh messaging while maintaining the visual element that has already been used in the campaign.
CTR Guard Panel
From the CTR Guard panel, you can:
- Browse creatives in gallery or table view.
- See trigger explanations (e.g., Ad Burnout, Low Volume).
- Filter by campaign & status.
- Jump directly to the original campaign via the direct link.
- Enable or disable CTR Guard generation for your account using the Enable/Disable toggle.

-
Track unseen creatives, highlighted with a dot and counter in the side menu tab.

-
Launch creatives into rotation using the Manage Auto-Launch button.
The Manage Auto-Launch setting does not control creative generation. It only controls whether approved AI-generated creatives are automatically activated after approval.
- When enabled: Approved AI-generated creatives are automatically launched into campaign rotation. New creatives can start receiving traffic without any manual action. Optional budget / clicks limits can be applied to control initial testing budgets.
- When disabled: Generated creatives remain paused after approval. You must manually review and activate each creative before it can start receiving traffic.

Creative Status & Notifications
- New creatives appear only after moderation.
- Creatives generated automatically are clearly labeled with "CTR Guard" in your campaign list.
- Ads are ready to launch immediately once visible in CTR Guard.
- Depending on your Auto-Launch settings, they are either activated automatically or await manual activation.
CTR Guard may display dashboard notifications for important status changes, including:
- CTR Guard disabled automatically due to inactivity.
- CTR Guard disabled manually by the user.
- Generation-related status updates.
CTR Guard on Request
CTR Guard on request helps you instantly create AI-driven ad variations right from your dashboard. It can pull ideas from your landing page, rework your existing creative, or combine both for a balanced result. You’ll find it in the creative actions menu under Generate ad.

“Generate ad” is available for the following creatives:
- Creative types: Product and Search Feed
- Creative format: Static images only
- Creative status: Approved creatives only
Activating CTR Guard on Request
- Open the tool. Click Generate ad on the creative you want to use. A side panel opens where you choose the campaign and pick a generation strategy.
- Choose the target campaign (where new creatives will be created):
- Current campaign (selected by default);
- Another campaign from a dropdown list.
- Product creative shows only product campaigns of that client;

All creatives you trigger manually are collected under the Manual generation of the CTR Guard panel.

The original creative displays a Generating ads badge so you know it’s in progress.

Motion Ad Generation
The Motion Ad Generation allows you to transform static creatives into high-quality, dynamic
video clips with just one click.
To generate a motion ad, follow these simple steps:
- Navigate to the Ads section, then click the three-dot menu next to the creative you want to transform into a motion ad.
- Find and click the Generate Motion Ad button.

3. Select one of the options: to generate a motion ad for the current or another campaign. Once selected, the system will automatically create a motion version of your creative.

There is no need to redesign or reshoot it. It’s a 100% brand-safe, since it’s just your original image reimagined as a scroll-stopping video.
The first five motion ads are free. Additional video generations unlock automatically based on
your campaign spend on video creatives. You’ll see a message on your dashboard showing how
much you need to spend to unlock additional generations.
Find all generated videos in the CTR Guard panel, under the Motion Ads tab. New videos are marked with a small blue dot.

Explore best practices for getting the most out of your motion ads.
Notifications
You’ll get an alert in the Notification Center under the CTR Guard tab when generation finishes, whether it succeeds or fails:
Success: "New ad generation complete! Check out your new ad ID {12062535} for Campaign {name}. [link to your ad]"
Failure: " Couldn’t generate your ad. Ad in Campaign {name} wasn't generated due to [reason]."
Clicking the notification opens the newly generated creative in the CTR Guard panel.
Notifications are marked read only after they actually appear on your screen (or if you choose Mark all as read).

Notifications for Motion Ads Generation
Once generation is complete, you’ll receive a notification in your dashboard:
✅ Video generation complete – watch it now!
❌ Video generation failed – please try again later.

CTR Guard on Request Limits & Timing
Typical generation time: about 10 minutes.
Default cap: 30 generations per client per day. If you hit the limit, you’ll see:
“You’ve reached the daily limit for AI-generated creatives… Please try again tomorrow or contact your account manager if you believe this limit should be increased.”
Manual generation is always available (regardless of your status in the CTR Guard panel).
New creatives can appear with one of these review states: Approved, On moderation, or Rejected.
