Overview
Delivery Indicators are built to simplify how you track campaign pacing. They provide instant visibility into whether your campaign budget is progressing in sync with your timeline—so you can act fast when things go off course. You’ll find this feature right in your campaign dashboard, neatly placed in its own dedicated column.
This feature helps you:
- Save time by eliminating the need to manually compare timelines and budgets across various reports.
- Make quick, informed decisions with real-time updates on campaign pacing.
- Maintain consistency using standardized visual indicators across all campaigns.
- Prevent budget issues by catching underspending or overspending early enough to fix them.
How It Works
To use Delivery Indicators:
- Open your Campaign Dashboard.
- Locate the "Delivery indicators" column.
- Hover over an indicator to see detailed insights about your budget spend versus time progression.
The logic behind the Delivery Indicators is based on comparing two values:
-
Budget Progress (BP): how much of your budget has been spent.
-
Time Progress (TP): how much of your scheduled time has passed.
These are calculated as:
- Daily BP = (Spent Today ÷ Daily Budget) × 100%
- Total BP = (Total Spent ÷ Total Budget) × 100%
- TP = (Hours Elapsed ÷ Total Campaign Hours) × 100%
Then the system calculates the difference:
- Diff = TP − BP
This tells the system how far ahead or behind your budget is compared to the campaign timeline.
What the Statuses Mean
Each indicator uses a color code based on the Diff value:
- On track - Budget and time are progressing as planned.
- Ahead of schedule - Budget is running out faster than the allocated time (>2%).
- Slightly behind - Time is moving a bit faster than budget spending (2-5%).
- Needs Attention - Budget spending is falling behind allocated time (5-10%).
- Far Behind - Budget spending is significantly slower than expected, lagging behind time (>10%).
The indicators update automatically and reflect real-time data. You can’t edit them manually.
Troubleshooting
1. Delivery indicator is missing
- Why: It might not be enabled in your metrics list.
- Fix: Check your dashboard settings and ensure the Delivery Indicators metric is selected. Contact your account manager if it’s not visible.
2. Status doesn't match expectations
- Why: Pacing mode settings or budget update delays.
- Fix: Review your pacing mode and make sure budget updates are reflected correctly.
3. “Ahead of Schedule” triggered unexpectedly
- Why: Possibly due to high CTR, aggressive bids, or fast budget consumption.
- Fix: Lower your bids, adjust pacing, or add a daily spend cap if only a total budget is set.
4. “Slightly Behind,” “Needs Attention,” or “Far Behind” triggered
Why: Could be caused by low traffic, low CPC, or inefficient targeting.
Fix:
- Use the ReachMeter during setup to ensure sufficient audience volume.
- Check your win rate in Source Optimization—your bids might be too low.
- Consider increasing your budget.
- If none of this helps, contact your account manager for tailored advice.
